Social sailing days
Social sailing days run throughout the summer, usually starting on the last Saturday of April, then fortnightly until mid-September. The purpose of these days is both to encourage social sailing by those with no wish to get involved in Series racing, and to encourage those less confident or competent to broaden their experience and improve their skills. To this end, the club provides both safety boat cover and access to the galley (for DIY food preparation) between 10h00 and 16h00 on these days. We also ensure that there is a 'Beachmaster' on duty who will keep an eye on proceedings and offer advice, guidance and assistance where sought.
From the end of April through to the middle of September we run evening 'Improvers Sessions' starting at 18h00. The purpose of these is to encourage newly-qualified sailors to get out on the water, knowing that there is a safety boat on hand and experienced sailors available for advice and guidance. And, if the weather's too hairy, we sit in the clubhouse and wait for the bar to open!
Keep an eye on the Calendar for exact dates.
