MKBYSA   (Milton Keynes & Bucks Youth Sailing Association)

​MKBYSA is a group of five local sailing clubs that provides sailing training and competitive racing coaching for young sailors up to 18 years old. It runs a structured programme of monthly events, hosted at each participating club.

Young sailors can take part in MKBYSA events as long as they meet the required sailing standards. Selection for the MKBYSA team competing at the NSSA Regatta takes place each November at Haversham Sailing Club.

There is an admin fee (typically £7.50) per participant per session. Participants are encouraged to use their own boat, but the participating clubs can usually offer boats to borrow, free of charge. Proper clothing is essential, especially in the winter months when wet - or dry suits are mandatory. Participants should bring their own packed lunch/snacks.

​Participants must be able to rig and de-rig a boat, launch and retrieve it, confidently sail a set course, and right their boat without assistance if they capsize.
